Why check color contrast?
WCAG 2.1 requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text (AA) and 7:1 for enhanced accessibility (AAA), with lower thresholds for large text. Checking the colors you pull from a photo or brand image against these thresholds helps make sure real people — including those with low vision — can actually read your text.
